34th No™ Meetup

The 34th No™ Meetup is the annual Secret Santa Gift Exchange. (No in-person gathering.)

Great news, everyone! December’s No™ imagery was created by an AI with the prompt “Secret Santa.” So, I’m feeling fairly optimistic about our job security… at least for now. 😅

This month, we’re forgoing a meetup because we all have enough events to attend during the holidays. But, we’re still getting in the spirit with a Secret Santa gift exchange. The rules are simple:

  1. Sign up with this link before December 12th at midnight.

  2. Names will be drawn virtually on December 13th.

  3. Buy a gift for up to or around $25.

  4. Ensure it’ll be delivered by December 30th at the latest.

  5. Post the gift you receive in Slack so we can all see what you got!

Optional - Santas can reveal their identities or leave it a mystery! Remember: be creative, have fun, and don’t lose too much sleep about being replaced by AI for at least another year.

26th No™ Meetup at The Crafty Fox | Hosted by Molly Green

There are some things we have not forgotten. We have not forgotten that No™ started with the intent of hanging out in person. We have not forgotten the satisfaction of meandering conversations with peers and colleagues after a long day. We have not forgotten that a drink at a local joint is money well spent.

And we have not forgotten that we have a meetup this month. Join us on Thu. March 24th (the 4th Thursday of the month) at The Crafty Fox (close to the West 6th Green Room, downtown) at 5:30.

Better late than never, right?! We're combining our event with Ad Club Lexington's ADDY Awards Watch Party because we thought...why not?! This is the best of both worlds. We'll be bringing these two clubs together for networking, celebrating and good times all around.

Here is the information straight from the AdClub Lexington website:

The (Virtual) Gala and (In-Person) Watch Party

We’ll be hosting an official happy hour watch party at Base249. Cover at the door will be $10 to help with drinks and food. No pre-purchases required (so you can decide on the day depending on health and happiness). As far as covid/masks/vaccines go, we want everyone to be comfortable (and we encourage that you define comfortable as fully vaccinated and masked).

We hope that everyone was already planning on attending this event but if you weren't, we hope that you will consider it now!

22nd No™ Meetup is a Secret Santa | Hosted by Laura Merchant

‘Tis the season for the December No™ Meetup! We’re hosting our very first Secret Santa gift exchange—all virtual, no stress or conflicts with your many office and family Christmas parties.

This is a fun way to get to know your fellow designers and advertisers here in Lexington, as well as spread some holiday cheer. The rules are simple:

  1. Sign up at this link before December 7th and be sure to provide information or a wishlist to help out your Santa.

  2. Names will be drawn virtually on December 8th.

  3. Buy a gift ($25 is a guideline, do more or less, or even handcraft your gifts) and either drop it off or mail it before December 21 so people have time to receive it and post before Christmas.

  4. Post the gifts you receive here in the meetups channel so we can all see what you got!

Optional - Santa’s can reveal their identities or leave it a mystery! Remember, be creative and have fun! It’s not about how much you spend but about spreading cheer. Any questions, ping me!

19th No™ Meetup at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary | Hosted by Roscoe Peacock

Let’s go hiking at Raven Run Nature Sanctuary Sunday the 19th at 9 AM!

The hike will be about 3 miles long, easy-to-moderate in difficulty. And with a leisurely pace, we should finish in under 2 hours. Meet in the parking lot before starting the hike around 9:15. No specific topics to be covered other than the experience of the outdoors... and it’s free!

As a bonus, we can grab lunch at Boonedogs afterward since it’s right around the corner. I’ll plan to swing by for a small plate but then need to rush off by 12:15.

What you need to know/bring
- Wear hiking shoes/boots adequate enough for easy to moderate hiking
- Wear clothes that you can sweat in although it should be relatively cool in the morning
- Water fountains are closed, so bring your own water
- Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at Raven Run.
- This should go without saying but, since we might be a small-to-medium-sized group, let’s please do our best to be as respectful to the environment as possible. No littering and make sure that you leave with everything you bring.

COVID-19 Safety Guidelines from Raven Run
- While entering, exiting, and hiking, please keep proper distance from others on trails and practice all CDC guidelines and state mandates. At points of interest on the trail system, please do not congregate, and continue to respect the guidelines of the park and the CDC.
- The Nature Center is closed, however, restrooms are open. Access will be limited to one individual/household at a time to promote safe social distancing.
- Masks are required at all times while interacting with staff, in all common areas, and while in restrooms.
